Orphans serving widows...

One of the things I love most about serving here at Eagles Nest is partnering with those who have a heart for reaching out to others. I have been so blessed and blown away by the generousity so many of you have shown towards the children who reside here at Eagles Nest. We are so very, very thankful.

Because the children in our home are so blessed, we know it is also important for them to learn how to bless others. And because James 1:27 applies to ALL of us- a few days ago we took our orphans to serve a widow in our community.

They went to her home and met her and her three children, who were now all living with her mother so that the grandmother could help her watch her children while she worked.

The middle child was sick with a sore throat so they were given medicine.

They also picked up trash around the home and gave the family a pair of new shoes, an outfit and formula for the baby.

And then they prayed over this precious family because they too know loss in a way that I pray none of us ever do.

Thank you Lord for letting me witness James 1:27 in this way. I am so blessed.

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27

I would like to make a christmas donation in honor of my employees. Would you be able to write them "one" letter telling the employees where the money was used? How do I make a donation? We normally send money to a different group in Guatemala however the lord led me to yours.

I often feel that many widows are forgotten, what a wonderful opportunity to bless this woman and her children, such a kind act of service!
