Love this so much. I had this experience when I was 15 and we went on a mission trip to Mexico. We had just finished painting a house we built when it started pouring. All of us dumb Americans were huddled in the new house, when we saw all the other kids running out into the rain. We looked at our leader and begged to do the same! It was the funnest 30 minutes I have ever had! My friend from the dominican republic says the same thing. " Americans run inside when it rans, we all run outside." Sometimes we miss the greatest joys!
How precious! I was wondering if you'd be willing to share an update on Village of Hope. Where are you in the process? It looks like you have a building. Do you have house parents? Have you begun training them? Do you have children under your care? Has the feeding program started? Or are you still in the planning stages? I'd love to hear where the process is taking you. Praying God continues to bless your ministry.
Blessed mommy of nine- 4 the regular old way, 2 adopted from Guatemala, 2 adopted through the foster system, and one adopted from Ethiopia. Our family is serving the Lord in Guatemala at Village of Hope- a home for special needs children. I'm passionate about adoption and being a mom. I'm a work in progress, utterly reliant upon God. I'm easy-going, until I freak out. Organized, until I lose something. Laid back, until someone hurts the ones I love. I love taking pictures and writing. I adore big families and people who are willing to live life in an unordinary way. Come along on my journey and watch 'as my blessings grow'.

Ohh what a wonderful rain! :) Now that I've been to Guatemala I think I'll have to read through your blog again. It's such a gorgeous country!
