I saw this awhile ago at church and then again today on a blog (thanks Kim). I needed this reminder in church that day and I needed it again today. Don't you just love when God meets you right where you are? Things have been a little crazy here lately to say the least. I'm not quite sure what God is doing- and for some reason today it just hit me that I'm okay with that. I can feel Him working and for now- that is all I need.
Last week we accepted a referral of a beautiful little boy from Ethiopia- wanting to believe with our whole hearts he was to be our son. But it wasn't meant to be. I will leave it at that. So, for now- our hearts are sad- and yet hopeful. Hopeful because I know that God is working and so for now I can just be still and know that He is God. Know that He has the answers and know that in His time he will lead us to our child.

Oh Amy, I'm so sorry. Praying with you as you wait for HIS perfect timing - which can be so hard, but so worth it in the end, as you well know. ((((hug))))

I"m sorry to hear your hearts are sad and that things fell through with the little boy. Why does that happen? I would think they would want the kids adopted to loving families so why would they say no?

Thanks, Amy, for posting this video. I've been in the process of adopting my youngest child for the last 2 years now and she still isn't home. Throughout the last 6 months or so, God has been telling me "Be Still." I love this video and I will probably post it on my blog in the next few days now.
I won't say "sorry" or anything like that because I know that the trite sayings that people often say won't help your hurt any. I am, however, saying a prayer of peace and comfort for you and yours today.

Surrendering & praying His will is not easy, but over & over He shows that it turns out more beautiful than we can imagine. I just posted about this on my blog & have noticed several people on other blogs that seem to have the same theme going on in their lives right now...I'm guessing God's up to great things & it will be awesome to see all the future blog posts testifying to His greatness.

Ugh, so sorry. The wonderful world of adoption, huh? I am thankful that this is not your first time around and therefore you know God is molding the perfect little guys to come into your family just right for your family. Love ya.

I have been visiting your blog for a little while now and was so excited for your family at the news. I am in total agreement with you that it will work out to be the way it should be. And the hurt of the loss is VERY real. We are blessed with 4 children, we lost 2 referred children in the process and they are forever the children of our heart. However, our son's who made it home to us are ... there are no words to describe the joy they are in our life. We would not change a thing we had to endure to get them home.

Our heart is with you during the pain of your loss and we will continue to follow the progress of your family. Big hugs!

Isaiah 40:26-31 has been my prayer all this month. He is our strength and he is working on our behalf even if we don't see things moving forward. He is writing your son's story as you wait and I pray that today you know his peace....
