The benefits of a cell phone

In case you haven’t noticed- we live in a cellular world. I can’t remember the last time I was out in public and didn't hear a ring tone. Flip phones, bright colors, customizable face plates, games, text messaging...I think it’s safe to say that cell phones are here to stay. Communicating by cell phone has become an important means of socializing for teens. Face-to-face conversation is old school to kids. Now it's all about text messaging-even if you're only sitting a few seats away from the person. For parents, cell phones are a great way to monitor or check in with their kids. One study done by NOP World Technology showed that seventy-five percent of 15- to 17-year-olds and 40 percent of 12- to 14- year olds carry cell phones!
Cell phone do more than just let us communicate – you can also get sports scores, entertainment updates, keep track of appointments and create to do lists. They can serve as a calculator and and alarm clock- as well as store contact information. Yet the greatest thing of all, at least for this parent- is that cell phones serve the greatest form of easy discipline. For you see, all I have to do is this…

And I get this...

And this....
And for those of you who are wondering, yes, I made them take those pictures to win back cell phone privileges. A mama's gotta do what a mama's gotta do. ;0)

I think I might get my kids cell phones JUST so I can use them for discipline.......

This is so true. Just tonight I took a cell phone for 24 hours. Jesse is mortified but I got my point across.
If I just remind Ann that one more smart remark loses the phone, her whole attitude changes!
Best form of discipline there is for a teenager. :)

So funny! I bet taking the pictures was a punishment in itself knowing they would end up on your blog.

You are so silly. I can't imagine my children having cell phones yet, but hey, they are only 4 and 2!!! LOL. Glad you are keeping on top of things.!! Heehee

You are such a nut. Where do you get that from? Wish they had had cell phones when you and your sisters were kids. Would have saved me some headaches.

Now, THAT'S clever! Maybe I should just go ahead and get the kids a cell phone so that I can start bribing them with it.

I've got to come up with SOMETHING! :-)

Cute pics!!
