One of the hardest things about going on the mission field is protecting family time and finding a balance. Everywhere we look there are urgent needs- and that can be overwhelming. One thing we have been working very hard on is to not allow ourselves to get burned out. Our family time, our children, our marriage still need our attention- or else we will allow our first ministry- our family- to fall apart. So today, we did something we have not been doing often enough- we took a break. We headed to Antigua to just walk around, enjoy the beauty and the rich culture. I, of course, couldn't help but to bring my camera along. :) I could spend hours just staring at the faces of my beautiful children. I love how God brought each of us together from different cultures, with diffent colors, and different backgrounds. In our house we celebrate those differences and thank God every.single.day for allowing us the privilege of being a family. :)

Sweet, sweet faces!
What a beautiful family! Thank you for the sweet reminder that our family is our first ministry! ♥
Sweetly,

You guys all look so amazing! Your children are beautiful!
You have been blessed with a beautiful family! And so wise to make time for family and marriage. We have missionaries coming in on furlough this week during our church's mission-focus...from Guatemala!
Your family, and your HEARTS make me smile!!!
Beautiful pics Amy! and your comments about making time for family and marriage despite the constant barrage of legitimate needs around us - so true! We're no use to anyone if we're all used up and burned out!
It's very easy to put other things ahead of your marriage and family. Kudos to recognizing that, and doing something about it. I pray that God will continue to bless your beautiful family!!!
I always enjoy checking in on your beautiful family and all you are doing for the people in Guatemala. What beautiful pictures - glad you could take off for a little family time! God bless!

Love. Love. Love.
Sadly . . . we know that ministry can nearly destroy a marriage and family. Only by the grace of God are we moving forward and growing together again.
While the needs of your new community will always be great, do not lose sight of the needs of your marriage and family. When you make time for your family, God will give you time for ministry.
Love & Hugs,
:) :) :)
Beautiful Amy! thank you, Blessings Shani
